Maryam Hashemi, D.D.S.
Dr. Maryam Hashemi received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University in New York City and completed her specialty training in orthodontics at the postgraduate program at Columbia as well. Upon graduation, she taught as a part time clinical instructor for three years in the same department and has since been creating beautiful smiles for over 20 years.
Dr. Hashemi feels blessed to work with a group of very caring, competent and responsible individuals whom she calls her work family. As a team, they strive to put patients needs first.
She is a nature lover and likes to travel with her family. She also enjoys watching documentaries, especially the works of Ken Burns, which she calls “masterpieces.” A few of her favorites include “America’s Natural Parks,” “The Men Who Built America,” “Baseball,” “Jazz” and “The Brooklyn Bridge.”
By regularly participating in continued education, Dr. Hashemi stays current on the latest advances in orthodontics. She is a member of several professional associations that provide her with opportunities for continuing education.
- American Dental Association
- New York Dental Association
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Ninth District Dental Society
Dr. Hashemi is very happy to live and work in a wonderful community. Each year, she leads the practice’s “Candy Buyback Program,” which gathers Halloween candy and sends it in care packages to our troops.
Monique Reittie – Orthodontic Assistant
My career in the dental field began in 1996 and I joined Dr. Hashemi’s practice in 2004. Being part of a team that helps patients achieve confidence and a healthy smile is very rewarding. I especially love interacting and building relationships with our patients and their families; it makes each visit fun and filled with laughter! When I’m not working, I enjoy spending my time with family & friends.
Marlene Presto – Office Manager
I have been with Dr. Hashemi for over 18 years and my favorite part of working here is being able to speak with our patients and their families. I enjoy hearing about their accomplishments in sports or other activities and always feel a little sad when their treatment is completed! In my spare time, I like to visit flower nurseries and spend time with my husband and three grown children.
Maria Gomez – Orthodontic Assistant
I have been a part of Dr. Hashemi’s practice since I was 18 years old. While working here, I also took courses part time and now I am proud to have become a Dental Hygienist! In my spare time, I enjoy walking in the park and spending time in nature with my siblings.
